Todd Roberts and Brett Hickey have both been involved in many community endeavors and are looking to leverage their networks and relationships to help establish and grow a community-based organization focused on the charitable purposes listed above. Both of the founders are seasoned business professionals with a strong track record of success in establishing and managing businesses, as well as for-profit and not-for-profit projects.

 

Brett Hickey: President & CEO
Mr. Hickey is an active member of the community and involved in many charitable and professional associations. He is the founder and President of the McGill Young Alumni Association of New York (2006 recipient of President of the Year), on the Boards of the Canadian Association of New York and Young Canadians In Finance and was formerly on the Chairmans Board for New Jobs for New York, and formerly on the Associates Council for the Childrens Aid Society. Mr. Hickey received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University where he graduated with honors in finance. As a former Canadian Champion and record holder and North American medalist in speed skating, Mr. Hickey stays active with sports where amongst many activities, he competes in triathlons, plays tennis, soccer and golf.

Professionally, Mr. Hickey is a Founder and Managing Partner of Aegis Capital Group LLC, which manages a group of private equity and venture capital funds with a national focus on small businesses and the social benefits of supporting entrepreneurs and enhancing local job creation. Prior to founding Aegis, he was in the investment banking division of Citigroup Global Markets in their financial institutions coverage group.

 

Todd Roberts: Chairman
Mr. Roberts received an LLB from McGill University in Montreal and an LLM from Cambridge University in England. Mr. Roberts was formerly the head of the corporate finance practice of Dickstein Shapiro LLP and is currently the Chairman of Aegis Capital Group LLC and America First Bank (in organization).

 

Jessica Cerka: Marketing Director
Ms. Cerka is currently in the M&A advisory group at the financial services-focused investment bank, Fox-Pitt Kelton, Cochran Caronia Waller. She was previously an investment banking analyst at National Bank Financial in Toronto and Canaccord Capital Corporation in Vancouver, Canada. Ms. Cerka holds an Honors Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. While at Western, she served as VP Finance of the Western Young Tutors club and VP Communications of the S.A.L.S.A. club. On her spare time, Ms. Cerka enjoys skiing, tennis and running.
