Mission: Acorn focuses its charitable activities on higher education and public health and safety. Its mission is to improve quality of life and quality of care at the community and individual level for gifted students and community-oriented institutions such as hospitals, medical research centers, police and fire departments and similar public service organizations.

Statement of Need: Acorn recognizes that it cannot solve the broad-based community needs it is addressing on its own; instead, Acorn is looking to assist the various governmental and charitable organizations that are addressing these same public welfare needs – primarily by contributing the time and talent of its volunteers toward Acorn’s broad-based fundraising activities. Acorn believes that the funding gaps that exist in the public welfare areas it is addressing will continue, and may even expand, over time, so there will always be a need for whatever assistance Acorn is able to provide.
